The type of casing that you use depends on what you are casing. For instance, if you want to package fruit then you will most likely use wax packaging. If you want to package lobsters, crab or mussels then you would most likely use seafood packaging. If you want to package turkey then you would most likely use poultry boxes. As you can see the type of casing you use is entirely dependent on what you want to package. A similar thing can be said in retail. You wouldn’t make identical pitches to a young director as you would make to an older director. The pitch you give entirely depends on who you are selling to.
For instance, if you are trying to sell a good, product or service to a aged married man with children then you would most likely make some small talk about his family life during your pitch. You would most likely ask him how is children are doing and how is wife is doing. You would also most likely use a more old school vocabulary when you are trying to make a sale. To make a sale to this aged married man you would try to make the product sound like something that he would like to have at that point in his life. Clearly, as a salesman the way you present a product or service depends on who you are pitching it to.
Another instance in which this is true is if you are trying to get a young, geeky guy to buy your product or service. Instead of using a vocabulary that make you sound older and more sophisticated you would use a vocabulary that make you sound with it and hip. Before you went to make the sale you would most likely look up such words and collect facts about the latest technologies. If you are really serious about making the sale to the man that is slightly geeky and right out of college then you should make a pitch that appeals to him. You should make him feel like buying your product or service is an valuable investment that he will possess for the rest of his long life. Clearly, you would present the product or service that you are selling in a different manner to an young man than you would an older man.
Another instance in which the pitch that you make would change depending on the person that you are presenting the product to is if you are pitching the product to a young mother. When you are pitching your product or service to a young mother then you could make some small talk about her kid. It would also most likely convince her to buy the product or service that you are selling if you give her solid reasons why purchasing it will benefit her child or children. You would also talk about purchasing the product or service as an investment. This is another instance in which the pitch you make entirely depends on who you are making the pitch to.
